This is my first Make Extra Money Online Monthly Report. In the past, I was hesitate to talk about my Online Income. I am not boosting about how “much” I do. Indeed, it’s open and great to let others know and keep each other motivated. It’s not a huge money. Anyway, it’s an extra income and it’s do-able to do it part-time around the clock.

I’m proud of my accomplishment and my hard-working pays off. Indeed, it’s not “passive income” as I was sold to. Everything takes hard-work and dedication. It’s totally not a Get Rich Quick and Make Money Online Scam.

When I document this, I found that this is not only about how I was doing last month, it’s also about what I have learned and how to grow myself and the online income on monthly basis. Sometimes, people just care about your numbers. Indeed, it’s my journey and hope my learned lessons help you as well.

My Inspiration

I got to know Pat Flynn back to early 2010 and was very inspired and “jealous” by his famous income monthly reports.

I know it is possible and finally I have my own first one publicly online.

Please note that I would only document my Online Income. Indeed, my full-time and offline income are non-disclosure (Everyone is different.)

Why am I reporting this publicly?

I was inspired and thought it’s impossible. I wanna share that nothing is impossible. Taking baby steps will get you one mile closer to your goal whatever it is. I’m not here to boost my “success” or telling you that I am successful. I’m by way too far from it yet.

Also I’m here to have you keep me accountable. I’m growing and wanna contribute back to this MMO world. I was spammed and fooled many many times. I spent hundred and thousands helping others Make Money Online before I made my first penny. I am here to inspire and share what it works or not. I love to talk about my failed lessons so it would save your time.

“Fool people learn from mistakes; Smart people learn from instruction” For me, I learn much more from mistakes and become even smarter.

To structure this a little bit and help myself reaching my annual goal. It would be like a monthly and quarterly check about my progress for myself.

Show me the Number

My Total Online Income in Jan 2012 is $1203.95

1. Amazon Affiliate Income ($1,014.07)

Amazon Affiliate Income Jan 2012

As you may know, there are tons of ways making extra money online. For me, focusing one would get you the best return so you could diversify and move on other venture.

I was working hard and lucky enough to break in a few niches and have a decent Amazon Affiliate income to motivate me and keep me going. Yes, I started with less $1 Amazon Income back to May 2011 as you could see from here:

This month is “disappointing” comparing to the last Nov and Dec 2011 – which is expected. I collected tons of traffic data and just don’t have time to analysis them all. I gonna break in many big niches this year and hope I could reproduce and even exceed my “success”.

I’m proud to “shipped” closed to 500 items via Amazon. I couldn’t get to 8% commission rate, it’s a number game and I’m confident that I hit again. What concerns me is that the web traffic of some of my authority sites is slowing and there were not many orders as in Nov & Jan last year which is totally expected.

In Feb, I plan to add more content and build more backlinks to my niche sites and build a few new ones. On-going, I learn about new product niches and try to compete in some strong ones.

2. Adsense Income ($129.30)

I have been following many big boys in this Adsense Income Niche and plan to play a catch up game on monthly-basis. Indeed, Adsense is one of my favorite MMO business model as it’s simple and straight-forward as is.

My Jan Adsense income dropped as expected as one of my income sites is a product-related one. The traffic dropped significantly in Jan that hurts. The good side is that I have definitely two winning niche sites making me $100 Adsense income. As I said, the first $100 is always difficult to meet. It took me couple months to get my first Google Check.

Adsense Income Jan 2012

Why can’t I duplicate the formula and have 10x? Yes, I’m planning to grow my Adsense income to $1000 a month level. It will get me to 1/3 of my 2012 Extra Money Income Goal.

This is a number game. I have about 5 sites having traffic and Adsense income stream. Why can’t I have 20 or even 50 Adsense sites?

Stayed tune about my update. I gonna document my how-to and the whole process. Indeed, it’s just a bunch of business processes to build and rank Adsense sites.

3. Affiliate Income ($60.58)

I only promote what I have and works for me. (I own some products and I don’t even promote and mention about that.) Simple because I have been asked for many times and I know what I promote would help others to save time and be more productive as I do in my business. Only if you take actions and take advantage of the benefits, it would just pay it off.

Many times, we are promoted to various stuff for features. It really takes time to digest to get the “benefits”. There are tons of Training, Software, and services out there claiming that they could help you to make money online. I was sold and spent tons of money on them; indeed, I still do and spend on monthly basis. Now, I know what I need, I get and grab the benefits right the way.

Education is priceless. How much did you spend in your high school, colleges, and continual education in your profession? Committing to learn is one of my key success factors.

I truly believe in Niche Profit Course (this is a killing deal comparing to $97 original price when I got it) which is my blueprint making online income with Amazon Affiliate.

Here, I wanna say THANK you to those who trust and buy through my Affiliate link. My email support and follow-up is your bonus. Chris has great support on this training as you may know, but you could ping me for any help too.

For me, TIME is MONEY. If I didn’t take actions and implement what I have learned in reading blogs, training, and experiments, I wouldn’t have had my 5-digit online income in 2011.

My 2012 Goal Progress

1. Making $100 a day (In Progress)

I’m 1/3 reaching my monthly goal which is about $3000. In order to scale up to reach my goal. I gonna build many Amazon Affiliate and Adsense niche sites on monthly basis.

It would take time to do market research, build the site, add content, and drive traffic to. In a few months, I should see some site traffic growth. As I said, it’s a number game. If you build 10 sites, you will see 1-2 winner ones. The more you build, it would just be more effective and better.

2. I put in 2 hours average ONLY a day (Χ)

This goal is definitely failing. January was very distracting. I am working on this business part-time. Squeezing out 2-3 hours a day is not easy. Sometimes I am just exhausted by 10pm after all day work and taking care of the kids.

Some days, I worked more than 3 hours; sometimes, I only spend an hour or so.

First week – I was thinking about my annual goal and busy reading other blogger goals

Second week – I spent a lot of time to design my daily and weekly schedule. At least I finished buidling niche site

Third week – I built another niche site and trying to catch up my schedule

Forth week – My first Guest post was posted online by Chris. I was busy to catch up the comments and traffic from the guest post http://www.makemoneyontheinternet.com/4000-month-with-amazon-in-under-1-year-student-results/

Fifth week – this is very non-productive as I was busy with my full time work and life after work. You may say it’s nice to take a week off and a break online.

I need to figure out how to focus on my core business – niche site building and stay away from social media and life distraction. Everyday, I should be working on something that is growing and driving my business forward.

3. I will spend $500 a month on this business (Χ)

In Jan, I was going to spend majority of my expense on article outsourcing and backlinking via Fiverr.com, but it failed.

I spent totally about $333.17 (my best estimate including new domain names from Namecheap, Hostgator Web Hosting, a few WSOs about niches and training, UAW, Fiverr, and Article outsourcing)

I would roll over $200 to Feb Expense and outsourcing big (I need to focus on this as it’s more time-consuming than I planned). Sometimes, it’s not about how much you spend, what concerns me is what I spend really worthy. Does it save your time, or just buy information / education that you can’t digest and have return?

4. Writing a Blog Post once a week (√)

I wrote 4 articles as meeting my post schedule. Indeed, blogging is not my strength and I take longer to fresh out an idea and publish a post. Content is the king. My traffic grew up a little bit in Jan. It was awesome to meet other niche site guys and we are in the community following Spencer, Adsense Flippers, and Smart Passive Income etc. It’s encouraging and nice learning from each other.

Blogging is fun and I meet great people in this IMT community. I feel energetic receiving reader emails and bounce ideas back and for.

As a blog traffic, I’m thankful to get closed to 800 in Jan. Thank you for all your support. My first guest post was up on Jan 24th and I had some traffic peak that day.

In Marketing Tips Traffic Jan 2012

5. I will have an Income/Expense Statement every month (√)

I managed to stream line and only have one checking / paypal account to pay out my expenses. It’s easier to watch out how I spend and my income stream in. It’s all about Cash-flow management.

6. I read a business book every month (√)

I’m proud finishing Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Jarv Eker and I have a few takes to share here:

Everyone has different money blueprint and they could be from our family, past experience, and childhood. Mine one is different from yours.

Rich people think differently. There are 17 mindsets mentioned in the book and my favorite ones are:

5. Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.

13. Rich people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income.

17. Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.

After reading the book, I know I have Millionaire mindset. I gonna revisit this and see if I have adapted “new thinking”.

In Feb, I am reading Midas Touch by Robert T.
Midas Touch is all about Successful Entrepreneurship. Are you curious about why some entrepreneurs win, and some fail?

If you know Robet Kiyosaki, probably you know his Rich Dad Poor Dad Book. One of my favorite books all time.

I feel great about Feb and it is going to be better regarding to productivity and my business direction. I “worry” that my niche site web traffic would slow down and can’t keep my monthly income as 4-digit. Anyway, I should focus on my daily operation, maintain my revenue, and grow from there.

Fear won’t help you move forward. Focus, be proactive, and hard-working and it’s the way to go!

Share this on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ if you enjoy reading this report.

Feedback

How did you do in Jan? Do you have any plan for Feb? Kindly let me know and I love to catch up with you.

Tell you a “secret”, I make extra money online with Google Adsense and Amazon Associates. I received my first Google Adsense paid check back to September 2011. It was a great feeling – to receive a pay check from Google although it was roughly about $100. Since then, I receive Google check every month.

Before knowing what Google Adsense is, I thought Google pays you by getting you to click their Ads.

How? What did you do? This is not a make million quick scam as you may see those ads like Working for Google or Working from Home Business.

What is Google Adsense? How do I make extra income with it?

To keep it simple, it’s Google Advertising network that Advertisers pay them to put up Ads across Content Network. You could start a website or a blog and add some code given by Google Adsense.

Then the Google Ads will be displayed on your site. When your site visitors click those ads, Google will pay you via your Google Adsense Account.

My First Google Adsense Check

In Sept 2011, finally, I got my first paycheck from Google Adsense. It was very exciting and finally see all my penny clicks added up as a hundred which is the minimum amount to cut you a check.

First Google Adsense Check

In Dec 2011, I had roughly $170 extra online income from Adsense. The daily income was like roller-coaster and some good days I had about $10 as in the below graph. $200 is not whole a lot comparing to other Adsense Guru.. well, at least finally I found the KEY and gonna duplicate it massively this year.

Make Extra Money Online with Google Adsense Goal in 2012

One of my 2012 goals is to make $100 a day. Part of my strategy is to build Adsense Micro-niche sites following the blueprint from Trent from Niche Site Mastery. I plan to build out roughly ~30 Adsense sites this year and hope to get a set of 10 high traffic sites making $1000 a month in total. I could bundle up a few winners and sell as 20x monthly income on Flipper.

As my estimate and traffic goal for this year, if I could get roughly 30,000 total page reviews a month, with 3% CPC (which is what I normally get), and at least $1 per each Ads click, it would be around $900 Adsense income.

Meanwhile, I’m still designing how to build out my sites in a bunch and try out different content and backlinking strategy. To get the exclusive tips and blog update, kindly sign up my tips newsletter at the right sidebar —>

Writing content is not my strength and I do outsource. Each site would cost as low as $50 like:
1. $10 Domain Name from Namecheap
2. $20 – 4 piece of content from Fiverr
3. $20 – 4 orders of backlinking from Fiverr

$50 budget is very low (If you write content and do backlinking yourself, you could save up much more.) and it’s doable as I pick low competition keywords with Exact Domain Name Approach. For stronger competition, I will do more backlinking with a weekly schedule.

Google Adsense Niche Site Scale

I have learned that you could have various Adsense Niche Site Scale as:

1. 1-3 page mini-site

As always, I only target one keyword for the main domain, and add in 2 pages targeting Long Tail Keywords.

2. 5-10 Pages

This is normally how I build out an Adsense site. I would know if the new site is a winner or not in a month. I love to fail quick so I could move on and build other new niche sites.

3. Authority Site (At least 20 pages)

I plan to build out a few this year. It would be nice to build some as Authority Sites under Google radar. Every new search engine algorithm is targeted to bring up even better search result for end-users. I’m sure that Google would love to honor mine.

Some of my niche sites have PR 2 and 3 with only 10 or 15 pages to start with. I plan to grow them even further this year.

In summary, Google Adsense is one of the easiest ways to make extra money online. Google will do most of the work – get Advertisers, put the ads on your site for you, charge the advertiser client and cut you the check. I really like its payout cycle and have fast cash flow. You will get your paid-checks mailed to you or deposited in your bank account (income for the month) at the end of next month. Make Extra Money Online with Google Adsense is not that difficult as I originally started.

Side Note: I have been practicing On-page SEO if you know what it is. Do you know what I have done on optimizing this page regarding to SEO?

Sharing

Have you heard about Google Adsense if you are a newbie in Internet Marketing? Have you gotten your first Google Adsense Check yet? Would you tell how you started and any great tips to share here?

4% Amazon Affiliate Commission? Kidding me. How do I make extra money online as an Amazon Affiliate?

How do I make extra money online as an Amazon Affiliate? I shop a lot on Amazon, but how do I make money and get a paid check from Amazon?

Journey back to 2010

In July 2010, I started out this blog and initially, I was thinking to blog about make money blogging without making any online income myself. I took couple days just to know how to install WordPress and customize a premium theme from themesheep.

Blogging and writing is not my strength and interest. I created about 3-4 post in 2010. That’s it. I’d say it wasn’t very successful. Blogging involves a lot of work and commitment.

Then what? I was looking for different ways making money online and talked about “Creative Ways”. Indeed, every work or projects involve a lot of time, energy, and creativity. I went nowhere.

Finally I made some extra money online in 2011

Thankful that I was hooked to Chris Guthrie’s Blog since June 2010. I was impressed with how he makes money with Amazon Affiliate. Some of his posts were eye-opening to me.

I saved a little bit early this year and paid $97 in March 2011 for his premium video training course Niche Profit Classroom (Original Price Site) – See the discount below. Indeed, it’s one of the best investment I have for my Internet Marketing Business. Note: I find that I learn much more in video instead of reading blogs. And you?

I finished up all his video (3 hr) in a few days. Grab the core concept, ideas and started creating a few product niche sites. The Azon WordPress Theme was a premium customizable theme and I love it. It helps me creating authority site fast and it is still one of my favorite Product Review Theme.

His Coaching Support is valuable way more than the cost. I learned so much by reading others’ questions and Chris’ feedbacks. Chris is very responsive and got his feedback within 1-2 days.

I’d say I am a hard-working student in the class. I was just focusing on writing great product related content and how-to following the training. Keep working on driving traffic to my niche sites. I had my first Amazon Affiliate Sales in May 2011. What? It was just $0.92?

Seriously, the first dollar that you make online is precious. I still remember the excitment I received my first Adsense check from Google. Don’t you?

And over $10 in June. How nice? Indeed, the process and system was working out – sort of out of my expectation. Do people really read my niche sites and click through to buy on Amazon?

Unfortunately, Amazon suspended all Californian Affiliate in July. My Amazon income stream was just CUT off.

Since I had some traffic to my sites, I switched all over to Adsense and made some money from July-Sept 2011. Stay tuned and I will blog about my Adsense income journey.

If you really focus on ONE business model, spend time on it although it may take a few months or a year, it just works. I’m not telling you making money online is fast and easy. I have read tons of information these 2 years and spending hours and hours on the computer screen after long day full-time work.

Since Oct – My Amazon Income rocks in

Thank God that Amazon re-activated the Amazon Affiliate program in California early Oct 2011. Since then, I have sudden “success” due to the growing SEO Traffic.

I had a killing month in Nov 2011 due to the shopping seasons and it goes even better this month – Christmas Shopping Season.

As of writing, I had break-through record in the early Dec. I am working hard to hit 8.25% commission rate this month.

Dec 1 to 5 2011 Amazon Affiliate Income

It was a long journey this year and 2011 is almost over.

How do I make extra money online as an Amazon Affiliate

This is how I get paid check from Amazon. To see my blueprint and steps-by-steps in Video Training, feel free to check out Niche Profit Course.

Step 1. Do market research and find the right product niche to promote.

Step 2. Build a niche mini-site with WordPress

Step 3. Write great product review content

Step 4. Drive Traffic to my sites. I do SEO and Search Engines bring in hundreds of traffic everyday to my sites.

Step 5. Monitor and Optimize my conversation rate.

Step 6. Repeat 3-5 in loop on this site. Or move on and start with step 1.

Finally, wait and receive my Amazon paid-check on monthly basis.

Is it You?

Maybe you are hopping around and going after Shiny Objects. I do and I am a WSO sucker. I buy information products here and there and going nowhere. I have tons of pdf and video on my harddisk that I don’t even have time to digest and open them. Sounds familiar?

If you have been looking for an Internet Marketing Blueprint and success business plan, there are tons in WSO, isn’t it? I am thankful that I found one and I just stick with it and get A’s in it. I’m still learning and trying new things everyday.

$97 is a huge investment for who looking for jobs or waiting for next assignment. Chris is generous to open door to his training with a killing price.

I promote it whole-heartily as it changed my life and bank balance in 2011.

Sorry, it was a long journey and kind of boring, isn’t it? Sorry to tell you that there is no short cut making money online fast. There is just a better training out there. It worked for me at least. You just need to grab ONE, focus, work hard, and be there.

I am his honor student and promoting this killing WSO deal before it’s closed. I paid $97 full price early 2011 and wish I got this no-brain deal. Anyway, TIME is money. How much IM education could you get with $30? It not only comes with the video training, but the bonus Azon Theme is super optimized and converting. You properly notice general premium WP themes cost way more than that.

Your success is my passion. Feel free to drop by my blog and claim your WordPress training on the right side bar if you need one.

How does spending $1000 extra income impact your life? Let’s say you just made $1000 extra income today, how would you spend it?

How does it make difference in your life? We are doing Online Business for reasons including making and spending income I assume.

I have drafted out some ideas. They would be my daily motivation to hit $1000 three times a month as 2012 goal. – 36 times a year. To dream evern bigger, how about $1000 a day? It’s possible and online business potential is unlimited as you may know.

How would you spend extra $1000 today?

Spend $1000

Since this is an extra income, it would be nice to spend it all right the way. How would it improve your daily life? If you have it monthly, will you move in a better living home like an apartment in a nice neighbor?

As an extra income, I will let my kids to take music, dance, and sport classes over the weekend. It easily costs hundreds on monthly basis. What if I buy a new mini-van?

Do you have any dreamed vacation? Would you go to those countries that you haven’t been? Is $1000 enough for a nice vacation? Or save it up, so one day you could make the trip?

For me, we could have a nice Disneyland Weekend Trip in Los Angeles. It could cover gas, entrance tickets, nice meals, and hotel accommodation with $1000.

How to invest 1000 dollars?

Be honest, I don’t know how to invest money wisely. I don’t even buy stocks aggressively.

Anyway, you have extra $1000. Would you buy a few shares of Apple or Google Stocks?

Since this is an extra money, I will reinvest in my online business with outsourcing. I will outsource more article writing and backlinking so I work less. I will buy software or services to save me time and be more efficient so I could spend more time with my family.

For your reference – how to invest 1000 by other professional advice (I think it really all depends.)

http://www.mint.com/blog/goals/invest-with-little-money/

http://www.nasdaq.com/investing/start-investing-1000.stm

Saving $1000

I could save $1000 in a saving account with 0.1% return, so it would be my emergency money when things pop up such as I need to fix the toilet leaking or pay a medical bill.

I may have a bigger item to buy such as my next house. $1000 could be saved up for the down-payment.

$1000 is not whole a lot to spend right the way. It could be saved for bigger use. Would you?

Giving $1000 away

Have you been giving on regular basis? One of the joy is be able to give to those in need and donate to clarities and non-profit organizations? How about to give away a portion of it?

The more you give, the more you get.

How I will do with my extra one thousand

While my online business is still kind of green, I gonna do this breakdown:

50% – Invest back to my online business so it will grow like a seed and help making the next $1000 faster. I’m trying to spend at least $500 a month as my annual goal.

30% – Spend. Easy enough, just spend $300 for pleasure, buy a nice meal to award myself, buy some nice toys and clothers on the kids, and family. It’s one of my motivation to make extra money online.

10% – To Save for rainy days. I feel great and secure to have an extra $100 in my saving account.

10% – To Give to Charity. The more I make, I’m more than happy to give and help others out. I’m not all about myself.

Dream Big and spend Extra $1000 would be one of your motivation working online. I’m hitting a $1000 this month (it’s already half way through this month) and scaling up to hit X3 monthly. Meanwhile, it would be nice to dream and plan how to spend extra money like that.

Sharing

Do you have any ideas how you will spend your extra $1000? Any fun idea to share? How would you spend your extra $1000 today?

What are your goals in 2012? Have you defined and set to go?

In the first week of 2012, I was busy thinking and working out my Make Extra Money Online Goals and detailed to-do plans. Meanwhile, I was reading others as well. I’m revealing here so I get countable by you and love to catch up with yours.

After all, it’s my personal goals. Everyone is different. I am working hard to archive them on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis. I properly will do monthly and quarterly update here, revisit them, and be flexible to adjust them on demand.

My 2012 Make Extra Money Online Goals

1. Making $100 a day

To keep it simple and easy to break-down, I plan to make $100 extra a day in average. This is a great goal to set and make and would make very nice impact to my financial and family.

Extra $100 a day is my part-time income and I would make it as “passive” as possible.

Jan 2012 would be my income baseline for 2012, I will maintain and grow my Adsense and Amazon Affiliate income to make $100 daily consistently. For now, I am making $5 a day on Adsense and ~$30 on Amazon. (Last Nov and Dec were my peak and I had many $100 a day.)

This is a nice goal, then HOW?

I have some success and experience with Niche Site Building. Making money online with Niche Sites is a number game. My Goal is to have 10 High TrafficAdsense focus sites and 10 money-making Amazon Affiliate Sites by the end of this year.

In order to weed out the winners, I’m going to launch new site every week. I’m optimizing the process (More you do, it would be better) and plan to spend 5 hours and $50 per site launch (I gonna document the case-study, my process, and outcome in the near future.)

To get my exclusive weekly tips and blog update if you are interested, feel free to get your FREE weekly tips update .

2. I put in 2 hours average ONLY a day

As you may know, I am working on this MMO part-time after 9-to-5. With busy schedule at work, spending time with the family in the evenings and on weekends, taking care of the kids to and out of schools, I only have 1-2 hour quality time working on this online business. Over the weekend, I prefer taking rest for my brain and spending time – reading and playing with my kids (they are the reasons I am working extra hours.)

My Ah-ha moment in 2011: I am working on this business as a Project Manager. I wanna get a part-time job managing web projects, rather than sitting in front of the computer screen longer. I do and work on the computers all day long in my day job already.

I need life-balance and got burned out a little bit in 2011. I realize I don’t need whole a lot of extra part-time income. 2 hour extra-work is all I could put in and shouldn’t de-quality my life like less sleep, more stress, and less time with the family.

Sometimes, I spent more than 5-10 hours on weekend in 2011, which was not desirable and expected anymore.

In order to just spend 1-2 hours a day, I am outsourcing my “growth area” which is article writing and backlinking. Day-in, Day-out, I think and plan about what to outsource and be effective.

3. I will spend $500 a month on this business

There is no free lunch and a push button to make money online. If there is one and working for you, please show me and let me know privately.

In order to work less and scale up my business, I plan to spend around $500 a month including web hosting, services, and outsourcing. The investment will grow when the income rolls in as well.

Also for continual education, I’d buy information products, training, WSOs, and Software so I could keep update myself and save time in different processes especially site building and backlinking.

I have a detailed break-down of my expesense for this month, I am just taking action to spend it!

4. Writing a Blog Post once a week

In 2010, I wrote 5 posts when this Internet Marketing Tips Blog was launched.

2011, I was a little motivated and posted another 5 whole year.

I didn’t really have schedule and goals to reach. This year, I’m posting at least once a week. This is not my highest priority, but I’m trying to make it.

The reason is there are so many hypes and spams in MMO niche. I was information overloaded and “spam’ed”. I wanna contribute back to this community, I made some extra money successfully and hope I could help others to archive it as well. It’s do-able for part-time income.

Please note that I am doing this NOT full-time. My capability, time and resource is limited, but scalable. I will promote products I am using and working for my business.

5. I will have an Income/Expense Statement every month

I have pretty mess up income / expense data and bank statements in 2011. I admit that this business wasn’t planned. I was doing it part-time for education and fun (as attitude) and didn’t really think as a business owner.

I was a little bit lost-track of my expenses across multiple paypal accounts, credit cards, and checking accounts. I probably need to sort out for the 2011 tax purpose this month.

My plan for 2012 is to simplify my Expense and Income booking in 1-2 Checking Account and a few Credit Cards. By the end of each month, I only need a little time and will find out how much I spend and make Online.

6. I read a business book every month

My college education, work, and background is all about software and engineering. In order to be effective running this Online Business, I learned and realized that I know very little.

I don’t like reading much and didn’t read many books completely. In order to grow myself and this business, I am reading ONE business book a month. There are tons of good books out there. I’m selecting and planning to read ONE a month.

Reading would let me think and learn new ideas. After thinking and exercising those, they would become part of me.

I got this in Dec and plan to finish it by the end of this month: Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Jarv Eker (my aff linke and you could read the first chapter FREE online.)

Other Goals

As a side note, I do have other goals for my full-time job, family, and health in 2012.

I am doing exercises 3 times a week and schedule to have lunch or dinner out with my wife once a month. Will keep you guys on post. I’m just a typical family man and daddy.

Your Feedbacks

2011 was over. What were your learned lessons in 2011? 2011 was very exciting to me as it’s the first year I made extra money online. I’d like to do some reflective thinking and share my notes with you.

My Learned Lessons in 2011

1. You should SET your GOAL and REACH it

In the beginning of 2011, I didn’t even set my goal how much I’d like to make or work hard online to archive 2011. The end result was that I didn’t publish new posts on this blog on regular basis, I didn’t work on regular basis in the early year (I was just reading and chasing around with different ideas.)

I didn’t even set my daily MMO income, so I didn’t try hard to make it until the last 3 months.

My take-away:

TO SET goals and try the best to MAKE it. (Set something do-able and stretch enough to push myself forward.)

e.g Making $1K a day is nice, but too far away from where I am so I may lose the motivation and even trying to think about.

Instead, I am setting a goal to make $100 a day this year. I’m working out the detailed plan and daily process to reach it. It’s just a number game.

2. Your Success is Just one Mile Away

As I said, I started with $0 passive income a month to nice 4-digit in Nov and Dec last year. I realize your success maybe just one mile away. Are you willing to run extra miles consistently and eventually, will hit your success and jackpot. I realize most of people trying to make money online would say it’s just damn hard and quit in the journey. They may going chase “shiny objects” and hopefully find another fast money making secret online.

Indeed, most of successful athletes just keep practicing at what they are good at and fine-tune their skills to run extra miles.

My New Minset:

I do the best and even exceed whatever I plan to do on regular basis.

Are you willing to run extra miles today so you would see your success faster? Your next success is just a mile away or even half mile, do you believe it and working hard to hit it?

Winner never quits. Are you a winner?

3. Say NO

I could imagine that you are many many Internet Marketer Email Alias and receive many emails on daily basis. I do and on some WSO alias.

I learned to SAY NO to different business ideas or opportunities. For example, I say NO to offline marketing, product creation, creating mobile apps, whatever new money making business ideas or secrets.

Instead of saying YES to all, buying info here and there, and going no-where, I am trying to shut my doors and only focus on my core business model which is creating niche sites for Amazon Associates and Google Adsense. I have some success and just keep improving the process to grow BIG.

Later this year, I may flip and sell some of those (which is new to me, but at least I am focusing what I am good at for now.)

My New Year Tips is:

Know when to say NO to what. I need to make fast decision to say NO to a lot of distraction, WSOs, and “new” information.

And you? What would like to say NO so you could focus on daily basis this year? It could change and you may take in new ideas after a period of time. It’s good be flexible, but not changing and chasing shiny objects all the time.

4. Failure is Your Best Friend

Many times, I was afraid of “failures” and even procrastinate doing something such as buying that domain name, publish that idea as a post on niche sites, or making change in the layout or even the color code of the Adsense.

I was “scared” of something bad imagined inside my brain, so I didn’t even take that action or execute that ideas. For example, create an email list and sending weekly tips newsletter.

INSTEAD, I should be thankful to my failures such as 10 domain don’t even rank and have traffic, in the sandbox I guess. I was losing at least $200 including the domain name and article outsoucing cost on them. (The lessons and returned value is huge though.)

New Year Take-Away:

I’m adjusting my thinking and behavior, don’t hesitant to fail and willing to FAIL quick.

Don’t fail to be failing. There are tons of niches and in order to weed out the winners, I need to build many mini-sites and willing to fail fast so I could move on next sooner or later. Also internet technology and industry is moving fast like bullets. There was Facebook a few years ago and Google+ last year. Who knows what will go hot this year?

I’m flexible enough to adapt new workflow and business processes on monthly basis. Try out something new and test it out so I could on-going grow my business.

Sharing

What are your best learned lessons in 2011? Would you like to share with IMT community? I love to hear your stories and learn the wisdom.

I was information overloaded, and you? I was looking for "the shiny objects" as 5BAD book mentioned.I was hungry for INFORMATION. :) Go and be FREE from Information Overloaded.

I was information overloaded, and you?

I was looking for “the shiny objects” as “5 Bucks a Day” book mentioned.

I was hungry for INFORMATION.

I am in software industry. For me, it’s not about technology, I do reading and sinking in all business and marketing ideas on daily basis.

7 Steps to Be Free from Information Overloaded

0. I filter all my emails, promotions, WSO pre-sells all into a folder. You could do it super easily in Gmail. I go over and check out what’s new when I need to. You don’t need to check out and buy whatever people promote.

1. Slow down

2. Write down and know what you know. (Such as wordpess, seo, list building, content writing whatever you name it. You would be surprised you indeed know a lot.)

3. Know what you want to learn and read. (I on-going read and catch up SEO, link building, social SEO, etc.)

4. say NO and delete (I don’t read PPC, List building, create your own products, whatever that is not applied to my current and core business.)

5. Focus and execute. Reading info can’t get you to where you want to be, not even finishing up ONE single 5 BAD project. Just go and do it.

6. During working on one 5BAD process, you need to know HOW. Go and search what you need. Learn it piece by piece and execute.

Be Information Managed

You are Information Managed

Finally, you are not information “overloaded”, you are information “managed” and “leading”.

Information without digestion is NOTHING. If you manage, get it, and do it, it becomes your knowledge and part of YOU.

After these 2-year reading and making money online, I can’t say I am a guru. At least I know SEO & Affiliate Marketing more than what I knew 2 years ago. Indeed, before 2010, I was thinking all MMO is a SCAM. Why Google will send you a check?!

This industry and Internet/mobile industry is moving so fast. I keep learning and reading everyday.

Be information “managed”, not “overloaded” today.

Discussion and Sharing

Are you information overloaded? Do you have tips how to deal with it? Anything I could enhance and add on my step list? Thanks!

Shall I have this kind of post in the beginning of 2011? Time flies and it’s already May 2011.

As you may see, it’s not much update on this IN marketing tips blog. I have been away due to busy full time work load and family starting this blog back to July 2010.

I have resumed my energy and dedication in May 2011. I am working on my niche sites and creating part time extra income. As an IM newbie, I was struggling with life priority shift, balance, and time management. Procrastination and fear of failure was my “friend”.

Many of you have full time work and family to consume, contribute, and spend most of your day time with. Making secondary and extra income online is great to have, but we just don’t have much time left. I know everyone has 24 hours a day. Pretty fair, isn’t it?

I am investing in some online training and software. I need to have a PLAN, to-do list, and build my business around the clock. The income may not flow right the way, but I am confident that it would come in down on the road.

HOW? Rather than telling you what to buy here and there, I have reserved and would blog about my process, tools, failure, and outcome. Stay tuned.

It’s already May in the summer. Let’s focus and encourage, motivate, and inspire each other down in the road. Let us win in internet marketing together!

Discussion

And you? How have you been so far this year?

Are you looking for THE secret to make money online creatively? Have you been overloaded by tons of spams selling you how to make a bunch of money in a short period of time? I don’ t have an answer here as I am still learning in my journey.

As you may know, I have been reading about Blogging Tips, Make Money Online, Passive Income, Internet Marketing, Working from Home, and Online Lifestyles that kind of niche blogs for a while. I kind of enjoy learning and interacting with other bloggers. Sometimes interesting and creative ideas are fun to read and inspire our lives.

These are just creative examples in case you are not aware of them. I was just impressed and became their readers / subscribers. In my opinion, they are super creative. Just that they involve your creativity to be very successful in the competitive market.

1. Making money out of iPhone Apps

Pat from SmartPassiveIncome shows how much income he makes on iPhone Apps. I kind of enjoy reading his monthly reports and how things break down such as his June 2010 one.

Some of free apps make money out of Ads or upsell you to the paid one.

Pros:

Mobile is still growing and there is a huge potential
It’s a proven model and more than 225,000+ apps in iPhone AppStore and 100,000 apps on Android MarketPlace.

Cons:

It’s a very competitive market.
The learning curve is steep. Not everyone could develop Mobile Apps and make profit of it.
There are basic investment on hardware and developer cert publishing those apps on the mobile devices.
Technical is the first step. Marketing your apps is tough. There are thousands of apps in the store and market. Hard working is needed to stand out; Luck comes second.

2. Online Ads is way to go

Advertisers and Internet Marketers buy Social Ads on Facebook or CPC (Google Adwords for example) and direct the visitors to their offer or landing pages. If they pay and buy goods, advertisers get paid through affiliates.

Pros:

You are going after targeted prospects.
It’s fun to monitor your Campaign and see money flowing in I guess.

Cons:

Ads is costly.
You really need to know what you are doing; otherwise will lose the budget and no return coming in bucket.

3. You could make decent income through Amazon Associates

I love shopping on Amazon as it’s free sales tax and free shipping. I didn’t know you could make decent income with niche blogs selling their products. It’s hard work but possible.

Pros:

You are promoting physcial goods instead of ClickBank Information Products
You are leveraging Amazon’s trusted branding
You don’t need to carry stocks and do customer support. They will handle all and you just need to send quality traffic to them.

Cons:

Not friendly for international customers. People hate paying extra shipping.

Some niche are very competitive such as Baby Products and Electronic. You get to be creative and work extreme hard.

4. Flipping websites

I recall I read a few blogs about successful building their online business with flipping websites and selling them.

Pros:

There are reliable channels to sell blogs and websites.
The entry cost is low; probably the domain name and hosting are required only.

Cons:

You need to have process to transfer your blog after transaction.
You know the skills to build a profitable one.

5. Spamming around on Twitter and social network

Just kidding. Don’t do it and you will get people unfollow. Debate:
Do you have any other Creative ways making money online. Please feel free to share.

Pros:

Easy, just create a free account to fish around with your product affiliate links.

Cons:

Bad for yourself and your branding.
